Erica and Wayne get married!
Posted on May 23, 2009
My first wedding of the year, well, not mine, Erica and Wayne’s wedding. A few months ago I got a call from my friend Shelly with Shelly Simpson Photography she just booked a wedding, I was excited about wedding season, as usual and offered to shoot with her. Here are my favorites. To see all the pictures head over to her website, she has her own blog there as well!
We’ll start with the details… I love details… here is her dress, funny story about this dress, it was first worn by a friend of Shelly’s that’s how Erica and Shelly were introduced!

So, Wayne came walking into the church and went to hand off his and Erica’s rings and I gladly took them before he could give them to his best man

Erica’s matron of honor and her husband did all the flowers

Shoes! Funny story is she didn’t end up wearing these, but that fact alone will probably make her smile when she sees the picture

Her first look at Wayne

Did I mention I love details..

First Dance

The handsome groom

The beautiful bride

One of my favorite shots of the day

Last but not least, the cake, which was made by yet another of the bridesmaids

Erica and Wayne,
I wish you all the luck in the world in your marriage.
Shelly,
Thanks for letting tag along with you, it was fun doing it together. Let’s do it again!

Tyler is 16 months… and a few with mommy too
Posted on May 22, 2009
Today we managed to get some family time at the park. I am working on shooting in manual mode, I love the results, still have lots to learn, but in the end I was very glad I took the time to do it. With the exception of black and white these are straight out of the camera. Enjoy my little bit… oh and a few pictures of her mommy too
We were having a little bit of a wild hair moment, but that didn’t stop her from being adorable

“you want me to what?…. where’s elmo?”

Cuteness in the truck, she was sitting behind me and saw the camera and I just kept hearing “say cheese” so I had to take a few, when I turned around she stopped smiling, silly girl

The shy smile

Getting ready to perform her circus trick

Flip me daddy

upside down

oh, those baby blue’s

I think I see where she get’s her eye color from

Just mommy, this is rare

this one just makes me laugh, so I had to put it on here, I see someone adorable in the background

Thanks for looking, remember I love comments!
Virginia Beach, VA Family Photography ~ Rachael and David
Posted on May 20, 2009
I have known Rachael for a while now, we were both in the College and Career Class at First Baptist Church of Norfolk, Jeremy, her husband, was also in that class. Well, Rachael, Jeremy, and David are now living in California, but while Jeremy is out on deployment, Rachael and David are visiting family in Virginia Beach. I was really excited when Rachael contacted me about doing a session with her and her adorable David, he’s 16 months old in case you are wondering. Happy Mother’s Day Rachael!
He doesn’t look to happy, but he was really having a good time

Sweet kisses make babies smile

She’s a beautiful mom

Still not that happy, but working on it :o)

He was starting to have more fun

Sooooo cute!

Ummmm mom, can I just keep climbing and not look at the camera

Okay, so sometimes as a photographer you take a picture and you think “that’s it, I got it” and then you as you are reviewing your work you see that same picture, but big and all pretty on the computer screen and you jump and down with joy. This is it!

Thanks Rachael and David. I had so much fun with ya’ll.

Hampton, VA Family Portraits ~ The James Family
Posted on May 11, 2009
This past Friday I received a call from Erika Ross of Urban Peace Photography. She needed a favor, she was sick and couldn’t make it to her scheduled shoot, so she asked me to fill in. It was nice to be trusted with something important like that. So after my in-laws graciously agreed to watch Tyler I was off to Hampton. Stephanie never went to her High School Prom, and so when her son entered her same high school she decided when he went to prom, she was going to. Here is the families pre-prom shoot.
Stephanie and G, I love genuine smiles, especially when I break out my stupid jokes :o)

All three, don’t they look great

Jordan getting in on the action, she asked for this picture with her Dad and Big Brother

Beautiful and handsome, need I say more

doesn’t he look great!

The Moulton Family

Michelle asked me a while back if I could photograph her family for a special mother’s day present. Of course I said no problem. Michelle is starting her photographer business as well, check out her blog here. We went down to Little Island Park at Sandbridge, it was a lovely day and although it had been hot earlier it managed to cool down and we had a good time. Here are some of my favorites.
Michelle and her adorable daughter Casey

Michelle’s cute family

The boys

The girls

Like I said Michelle is a photographer too, so while I was switching lenses I gave her my other camera and she was having a good time shooting, here is my view

Here is Michelle’s view
Casey and her daddy
I love sweet pictures
And the entire reason for the shoot, the entire family
And here is my favorite, she was adorable and this little look I couldn’t resist

Thanks Michelle for giving me the chance to photograph your family. I know this was important and I appreciate you trusting me with it.
