Lighthouse on the Cove ~ Virginia Beach Wedding Photographer ~ Christa and Bryan
Posted on October 25, 2009
Christa and Bryan were married on Oct. 17th at Lighthouse on the Cove in Virginia Beach. They had a beautiful wedding which they celebrated with friends and family. One of the things I love most about shooting weddings is the families of the bride and groom. Every couple I have photographed has had wonderful welcoming families, it makes for a great day. Christa and Bryan were no exception to this rule and because they both have a lot of family it made it even more special. I have never seen a relationship so wonderful between divorced parents as I saw this day, you’ll see it in one of the last pictures. I would like to send a special thanks to two people, the first of which is probably one of the best DJ’s I’ve worked with, Jay Johnson from Astro Dj’s, Jay was very personable and very fun, I would recommend him to any of my future brides. I got to bring Shelly Simpson along with me to this wedding, we had a blast shooting together, thanks for everything Shelly. To see Christa and Bryan’s complete galleries click here.
Please enjoy a few of my favorites
For those of you that follow my blog you know I love ring shots, this is probably my all time favorite, it’s the bright popping color, you would have never known it was 50 degrees out and drizzly that day!

This lovely bouquet was made by a friend of the family, she did a fantastic job

I couldn’t resist getting the shot on the right (no pun intended)

Dress detail

Hair detail, Christa had her hair and make up done by the very talented ladies at Salon Vivace

This fantastic bridal party braved in the cold for this picture, I appreciate ya’ll for doing that, see, it was worth it!

Christa and Bryan-
Thank you for letting me share in your day, I had so much fun working with you both. I wish you much happiness.

Jasmine Plantation Wedding, Williamsburg, VA with Angela Garfield
Posted on October 14, 2009
What a beautiful day it turned out to be when I had a chance to shoot with Angela Garfield. We had a blast and I learned some pretty cool lighting from a fellow Nikon girl. Jasmine Plantation is beautiful with a great set up for outdoor wedding and even a nice room for indoor events. I can’t wait to shoot another wedding there soon (hint hint future brides.)
Some great details.. this wedding was full of them… the rings are my favorite

Hampton, VA Wedding Fort Monroe ~ Deanna and Michael
Posted on August 3, 2009
Getting an email with a wedding inquiry always makes me happy, when the wedding is only a few weeks away and I’m available that day, it makes me giddy! As I’m sure you can guess this is what happened with Deanna and Michael. Their wedding dream was to be married in Hawaii, and since this wasn’t possible, they made their dream come true on the beach at Fort Monroe. I have to say, it was a lovely ceremony, very personal, very sweet. Every time I looked through my camera I saw very big smiles and looks of adoration. Here are a few of my favorites from their day. To view their full gallery click here.
My two favorite wedding details…
Shoes

And of course rings!

Here comes the bride… she’s beautiful… you’ll see more later

Doesn’t he have a fantastic smile

So I never include family formals in my blog posts, which means unless you go to the gallery you won’t see them, so from now on you’ll be seeing one every now and then. Here is Deanna, Michael, and her family.

Hot car and a hot bride!

The first dance, they are so sweet together

My two favorite!

I love these shots… and this one especially

Deanna and Michael, thanks for letting me hang out with ya’ll and share in your day. I hope you have a fantastic life together!

The Yacht Club at Marina Shores ~ Virginia Beach, VA
Posted on July 27, 2009
I was honored to be able to second shoot yet another fabulous wedding, this one with Robbie Hickman.
Vendor info:
Ceremony - Larchmont United Methodist Church
Reception - Yacht Club at Marina Shores
Catering - Creative Catering of Virginia
Florist – Black Iris Floral Event’s Inc
Cake – Mrs. B’s Cakes
Okay, enough of all that, on to the fun stuff
I took several different ring shots and for me this was the winner

Kristen’s amazing dress

A little dress detail

Dan is several inches taller than Kristen so to help make it up a bit here are her absolutely fabulous wedding shoes with 4 inch heels, two words ladies…. Badgley and Mischka

Fun story, Todd at Black Iris did the flowers for my wedding also, these are absolutely lovely

So you get to see another angle

They had a very nice ceremony

And as usual were thrilled with the end result

She’s got that just married glow

This church was built to have bridal portraits done around, you’ll see a few more in just a second

Love the swords and all the kissing

I mean, look at that lighting

They were so sweet together

I can’t decide which of these next two shots is my favorite, how about some audience participation, add your vote to the comment box….
This is Number 1

And this is Number 2

What a way to end the first dance!

Dan and Kristen,
Thanks for letting us share in your day. I hope you have a wonderful life together.

Lesner Inn, Virgina Beach, VA ~ Lindsay and Nate
Posted on July 14, 2009
I’ve been lucky enough to hook up with a few other local wedding photographers and second shoot for them. This wedding is that of Lindsay and Nate, I was shooting this day for Andi Grant Photography. These pictures belong to her, but were all shot and edited by me. I hope you enjoy some of my favorites. The wedding was at Virginia Beach United Methodist Church and the reception at the Lesner Inn.
A beautiful cake, and with it right in front of the window and water, it made it even prettier to look at.

The lovely bride

I love this shot, the angle, the looks… love it

This you will see in my portfolio, I really love this one

Exchanging rings… I must apologize for the random order

Mother of bride, she was stunning

So this is what Andi hands out at her weddings, it’s a great little take home for the guests and the quality is fantastic. The funny story behind them is that I ordered cards from this company, well, actually, I was playing with their software and ordered 25 of them on accident, but it’s worked out well!

Thanks for letting me share in your day. I wish you all the best.
