A little about Becca

Like most people I'm a lot of things, to name a few: I'm a wife to Andy and a mom to Tyler and the companion to my rescued Australian Cattle Dog, Braun. I have a passion for photography that just won't quit. I believe there is always more to learn and I take the time to continue doing so, through both reading and classes. When I'm not spending time with my family, editing pictures, at my full time job, I'm probably sleeping (gotta fit that in somewhere). I just celebrated a "big" birthday. I love spending time outside, I love it even more when it involves a mountain, a lift, and my snowboard, watching my dad yard sale across the mountain is just an added bonus. So now you know a little about me, and I hope to get know more about you. A little about my gear: I shoot with all high quality Nikon ditigal equipment. I have a main and back up camera, so no worries there. I also have off camera flash and some great lenses, everything I need to capture all those special moments. I edit all my pictures using my trusty MacBook Pro, Adobe Lightroom 3 and Adobe Photoshop CS4. A little about this site: Instead of having both a blog and a website I have found an option that combines both into one. So please look around and come back often as you will be able to see my latest work through my blog below. At the top of the page you will find links to my portfolio galleries. I love comments so please leave me one. The picture you see of me being silly is courtesy of Andi Grant Photography. Thanks for visiting, hope to see you back soon

Portsmouth Wedding Photographer ~ Jerry and Paola

Posted on March 8, 2011

Jerry is from Puerto Rico. Paola is from Paraguay. They met in the US, go figure. These two were fun to work with, their beautiful ceremony was almost completely in spanish, which for me was a first. When they told me that I had a moment of thinking that I probably should have taken spanish in high school instead of german. Even with that challenge I managed to photograph the emotion and joy I always strive to capture on a wedding day. I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites.

My little lighting model

Posted on February 25, 2011

My daughter was sweet enough to be my lighting model last night, she’s such a little cutie pie I wanted to share a few shots with ya’ll real quick.

Tyler doesn’t really like to look at the camera, as seen here

The result of telling her to “Say Cheese!”

And here is my favorite, I just love that little grin

Virginia Beach Wedding Photographer ~ Bryan and Amanda

Posted on February 22, 2011

Bryan and Amanda were married on a beautiful summer day surrounded by family and friends. I have to say it’s a different experience photographing a wedding for friends, parts of it were definitely a challenge, but one I enjoyed. Amanda made a most lovely bride and Bryan looked rather handsome. Devan was also dressed to impress and most adorable. I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites.

Will King Photography Lighting Workshop ~ Hampton, VA

Posted on January 20, 2011

I’ve been looking for a more local workshop to attend for a while now and stumbled upon a fellow Hampton Roads photographers website and found he was offering workshops. I jumped on that opportunity. If you are looking for a way to learn more about off camera lighting than Will King is the teacher for you.  Here are a few of my favorites from our sunrise shoot at Buckroe beach.  Our model for the day was Jessica.

Virginia Beach Wedding Photographer ~ Cavalier on the Hill ~ Sarah and Brendan Married

Posted on January 11, 2011

Sarah and Brendan has a beautiful wedding at the First Baptist Church of Virginia Beach at the oceanfront, followed by dinner and dancing at the Cavalier on the Hill. I had such a wonderful time with this amazing couple, they were all smiles and so much fun to work with. My second shooter even remarked about how sweetly they interacted and how comfortable they were in front of the camera. Here are a few of my favorites:
